WHAT WE DO
WE EASE THE PAIN, STRESS, AND TRAUMA OF HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN BY PROVIDING THE MEDICINE OF LAUGHTER.
Since 1995, we’ve been serving hospital pediatric programs through the generous support of local nonprofit organizations. The effectiveness of our efforts has helped us deliver the medicine of laughter to over 500,000 children all over the tri-state.
The anxiety and stress associated with medical treatments and hospitalizations can cause long-term trauma. Consistent positive relationships help patients reframe their hospital memories. Although magic clowns can't quite make miracles happen, they can bring humanity, connection, and momentary relief through laughter.
We have seen the science work up close through our weekly hospital program over the last 28 years. Children crying out of fear of an impending treatment were able to be soothed by entertainers. Many patients, when asked to reflect on their hospital experience years later, often remembered only the positive interactions with an entertainer or child life therapist.

PHILOSOPHY.

We don't wear hospital or clinical gowns so pediatric patients won't get confused about what kind of medicine we are there to administer.

We don't use extreme clown makeup and are careful not to play into the "scary clown" stereotype.

Our entertainers are all professionally-trained and seasoned in their fields.

We work alongside the Child-Life Departments in the hospital and are familiar with hospital procedures and administration.

Our entertainers are flexible, and adaptive, and provide customized entertainment and improvised interactions for each patient's unique situation.

We follow the science: laughter is a proven anesthetic.

We use the power of distraction to allow patients and their families to take a brain break from traditional treatment and escape into a place of momentary joy.

We are proficient with OSHA regulations, hospital regulations, and safety protocols.

We create magic that transcends the sleight of hand; our connection is through laughter and humanity.

We are technologically savvy. We have created effective Zoom shows and virtual bedside visits for those patients isolated or out of our visitation range.
